The ShoreTel Account Viewer is a specialized diagnostic utility used by IT administrators to inspect, verify, and troubleshoot user account permissions, configuration settings, and database synchronization issues within a ShoreTel/Mitel MiVoice Connect premises environment. It directly reads account-specific data from the system directory without modifying live database tables. Prerequisites Before Installation
Ensure you meet these core deployment requirements before starting the setup:
Administrative Access: You must hold local administrator privileges on the destination machine.
Network Line of Sight: The machine must have uninterrupted network connectivity to the ShoreTel HQ (Headquarters) server or Distributed Voice Server (DVS).
Software Dependency: Requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 or higher.
Database Credentials: Access requires the ShoreTel system root/administrator credentials (anonymous / ShoreTel or your custom-configured ShoreTel Director credentials). Step 1: Locating and Extracting the Installer
The Account Viewer utility is usually bundled within the core ShoreWare server installation directories rather than delivered as a separate cloud download.
Log into your ShoreTel HQ Server or access the installation media (ShoreWare DVD / software package).
Navigate to the main directory path, typically located at:C:\Program Files (x86)\Shoreline Communications\ShoreWare Server</code> (or the custom drive where ShoreWare is hosted). Look for the Utils or Diagnostics folder.
Locate the compressed file or executable matching AccountViewer.exe or AccountViewer.zip.
If compressed, extract the contents to a dedicated directory on your local administration workstation. Step 2: Running the Installation
The application runs as a lightweight standalone utility or a basic install wizard.
Right-click AccountViewer.exe and select Run as Administrator.
If an installation wizard prompts you, accept the standard End User License Agreement (EULA).
Specify the installation path (the default program file folder is highly recommended) and click Next. Click Finish to close out the installer loop. Step 3: Configuring the Server Connection
Once opened, you must map the Account Viewer to your active telephony infrastructure. ShoreTel 12.3 Communicator for Windows User Guide
